Anyone smaller than an eight point deer best watch out!
This photo was taken by a motion activated hunting camera about 2 hours from here(By a Direct Family member). I guess the Game commission will have to own up to what they created. So What do you release to kill off the Cougars/Mountain Lions?
Hey Cougar Did you ever see one take out a huge Whitetail Deer? I remember a few months back talking about them. You had mentioned you have them in your backyard. :)

saying goodbye to our fallen heroes...
I the middle of the night they became prey to an animal capable of breaking into a sealed house where they resided. It was an aweful sight. There personalities were very special.
They will be sadly missed. :(

Victory War Gardens

For Poca:

Even before the United States entered World War I, Europe had a crisis on its hands. The year 1916 had been one of the most disastrous agricultural years the world had ever known. Two years earlier, 20-30 million men all across Europe had left their farms to soldier. This massive deployment caused a critical shortage of workers of the land.

Prior to this, the Entente nations of Europe had developed a fine cooperative system for feeding their masses. Germany provided sugar to England; Russia sent its wheat to Italy. With the outbreak of the war, however, this joint effort was thrown completely out of kilter, and citizens found themselves subsisting hand-to-mouth.

So dire did the situation become that the entire continent resorted to meatless days. Those of the lower class lived primarily upon wheat, breads or pastas, and even that was sometimes reduced to as little as 7 ounces per person each day.

Fishing

For Poca:

See bottom for location in your area for fishing tips and Valuable information:

I know there are a lot girls and guys that know how to fish, but many have not had the opportunity to learn. In our neck of the woods you will still see the kid with the bamboo pole walking or riding his bike to the creek for a little adventure and dinner. These are the ones you want to follow.

They have a very distinguished look – no fancy equipment just a simple pole and maybe a book bag. (Dirty of course!) What these boys pull from their bags are many colors or flies and spoons. Make sure you have many colors. You can make these flies using yarn and knots. (Girls… Like friendship bracelets but on a hook) Bass are big Hooks #8 Trout are small hooks #14. I am only sharing what I know for sure through my personal experiences.

7 Mistakes of food storage

By Vicki Tate

If you are going to store food, make sure that the food you store is adequate for the need you and your family anticipate. This may not be as easy as to achieve as many people think, because the facts are that most people make serious errors when storing food—errors that will come back to haunt them when the food they’ve stored is the only thing that stands between them and their empty, dissatisfied, bellies.

There are seven common mistakes people make when storing food. They are:

A WOMAN'S POEM

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
I turned around and smacked the sh!t out of him...
Like his mother used to do.

From Stick:

Well since my first plants have broken the surface I guess it's time to start a garden thread. I am sure this will be blank for a little while but feel free to put in pictures and news from your gardens.

Here is a spreadsheet to help with planting and scheduling a garden. Change the "Frost Free" date at the top of the spreadsheet to update the dates to your local area. It is available for Excel or Open Office.
