State Sovereignty under the 10th amendment tells the Federal Government that those powers not enumerated in the Constitution are reserved for the several states and to the people. It means if the federal government does something it ought not to, the States do not have to follow, nor can the Federal government impose upon the states that which would violate the constitutions of the several states.
Yesterday, on Constitution Day, our Michigan state senate passed 33-0 (4 not voting) SCR 004 to reaffirm Michigan's sovereignty under the 10th amendment.
