They both seem to be making the same points until you really break it down and include actions in it. Manning is sincere and comes from the standing of a human being trying to help other human beings realize that preconceived notions and playing out stereotypes is destructive in all forms to all people. Obama on the other hand is basically saying that if he as a black man can do this then why can't others but at the same time in his actions he is helping to drive that wedge back in between black and white that had been loosened and almost pulled out over the last decade or so. Manning says what he says out of goodness, while Obama says what he says to obfuscate the facts that he fully supports ideas like hate crime legislation and affirmative action/race related legislation.
Because ever since the election, things have gotten so much worse.
I seems that this historical election has sent race relations back by 50 years.
No matter what he (Obama) says, Jesse and Al interprept it for the black paople to hear. Jesse and Al are the two most evil creations put on this planet.
