Michael Crichton, like Tom Clancy, is a man on the inside. What Crichton writes about has a very concrete base in reality from the Andromeda Strain to Jurassic Park. This article is about the true information war and how through manipulation and short term memory we are being led to the slaughter.

The main focus of this article is to LIVE YOUR LIFE

just discussing this on facebook.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

Now what again about that economic collapse?

That is a good question, and I will have to think about this. Of course, fear should not drive us, but this calls into questions a lot of what we have been discussing within the movement of late regarding the coming economic hardships. Are we being driven by fear ourselves, or are our concerns quite grounded?

But once again, notice the urgent language. The situation is desperate, unprecedented action is necessary, ordinary values must be pushed aside, anyone who disagrees is dangerous and reactionary. Terror, fear, and the end of civilization.

Are we not ourselves guilty of such talk as we discuss economic collapse or the end of the world?

Fortunately, studies show that we can learn to manage complex systems. There are people who have investigated complex systems management, and know how to do it. But it demands humility.

This I think is key: humility. Recognizing that we don't know everything, and in the grand scheme of things, we really don't know much at all.

I think we have legitimate reason for concern, but perhaps we need to take greater care in how we approach the days ahead. The fact is that we don't know what is going to happen. We know difficult days are approaching, but are our actions dictated by panic or reason? It is worth considering.

Absolutely sir!

That was me last year, panic buying and panic reading and panic panic panic because when you wake up and realize that you have been pied to your whole life it makes you very fearful as you learn more and more.

But, it is my belief that you have to go through that to be able to make the better decisions that will enhance your life. It is never a bad idea to be prepared, it's not a bad idea to be over-prepared if you can afford it. But you should not remove yourself from everything because you fear the boogie man.

I like Mike...

and it is a good read. Now, if people would only understand what he is saying and apply it to thier own lives (aging), then we'll get somewhere... :)

Fear is a toxin.
