saying goodbye to our fallen heroes...
I the middle of the night they became prey to an animal capable of breaking into a sealed house where they resided. It was an aweful sight. There personalities were very special.
They will be sadly missed. :(
That i have woken up many times worrying about that. Right now our girls just live in our junkyard some in the barn and a few in the Air stream. This is mainly because no time to get a Chicken house built, fortunately the Donkey and the dog seem to keep off predators, for now.
Darn raccoons last year took us from 18 down to 3. The new ones are all donations of chickens that people are giving away. It just amazes me how many people want to get rid of some. I wish we had more room!
