Apologies to your daughter
If she no longer desires this recipe...
This recipe brings back memories of my father's family. There were 7 brothers and sisters so at Christmas time there'd be a heap of us together. Sure enough the first one to get a desert "dookey wad" at dinner was sure to be asked..."Is it any good?" to which the reply from the taster would be, "Tastes like *#@%!" (But they didn't cuss, only made a hideous, drawn-up face to which the crowd would bemoan) and continued with "I wouldn't eat it, it's not any good", to which the crowd would guffaw (always) as the "dookey wad" usurper tried to hustle the platter off the table. This was a tradition. The dookey wad usurper was usually my Dad since he's oldest. We still go through this routine here, especially where banana pudding is concerned. :)
~No Worries~
She will still make and eat them.
In our house our father would always Zoro the cakes, yup a big ole "Z" would find it's way on every cake my mother would make and us kids would roar with laughter when we saw our mothers face every time she removed the cake cover. Good times at our house.
I saw some cats screwing on the sidewalk in town as I was driving home....it was very beautiful
lol
~Snicker~
