we don't have a ron paul video section?? seriously? how on earth did we forget to make that?!! that's so bad!
or is there one ... and i just can't find it??
i vote it goes on the front page under politics or has its own section.
which would be best?
it might not be a bad idea to give ron paul videos its own section. and come up with some categories.
i've noticed more people on my facebook coming around to the realization that BO isn't so fabulous after all. it would be handy to have videos organized by topics.
it might be a good idea to have peter schiff, rand paul and adam kokesh sections as well. they are all excellent speakers.
but i'd like to see ... on the front page ... this link and others .. (no hurry khomar ... you've got some fabulous happenings going on in your reality... so ~whenever~ is good.)
i was debating someone on facebook and needed a particular quotation and i haven't been able to find it ... however... i ran into that fabulous site.
people just don't have time ... in their busy lives to carve out time to read papers ... like we have. so let's give them quotations.... provocative ones.
nothing like dangling a carrot in front of someone. the best change comes from someone who is passionate about researching their own answers. let's tantalize them.
btw ... the quotation i'm looking for was THE statement that turned me from their side to liberty's side.
it was this fabulous paper (by the nwo folks) that went on and on about the fabulous things they were going to do ....... but right at the end ... they said ... something to the effect ... we will have this by ... agreement ... or by force. whatever it takes. and i was like ... wtf. something ~so wonderful~ wouldn't need to be "forced" on people. THAT is when i began questioning their motives.
i saw it in 2004 - 2006 ... don't recall exactly. it was before the ron paul campaign began.
i want to find it again ... because it is ~chilling~.
it is important to me because ... i have rse friends who don't ~get~ or ignore what ram is saying.
i didn't even know until 2005 that ram hates the un. was the ultimate libertarian. yadda, yadda, yadda.
btw ... khomar ... i use this site as a ~FABULOUS reference point~. you are a master organizer. its soooo easy to find stuff. i'm not like chris, or devon, or stephen, or you, or other dp people ... i don't store this info in my brain coherently ... i have to ~source it~.
On my "What's for Supper" thread the add new comment button is missing. I also thought there were some posts on it. It has been awhile since I looked, maybe I am confused.
logged out, then I logged back in and there were 2 Thomas's showing logged in. Then I ran CCleaner to clear cookies and logged back in and there were 3 showing, then 4. Tried cleaning cookies again, same thing and wound up w/my account showing me logged in 5 times in the user online box.
Was or is there a glitch on your end or just a time lag until logged off user is removed from panel? I waited and refreshed my page and every few minutes one would disappear. Was weird and Krmaya saw it too.
Unless you logout manually (by clicking the "Log out" link), the site will have no way of knowing when you have actually logged out. So it will show you as logged in even you have closed your browser or navigated to another site. I am not sure what the time frame is, but it is probably something around fifteen minutes. It happens to me sometimes from time to time as well.
manually and they kept stacking up when I logged right back in...I've seen this before at DP with it showing Michael Nystrom showing logged in twice. But I never saw it here other than 2...and 5??? One of those things I guess. I'm Off to work.
On the upper left menu, select "Create Content" and the content type. A book is for a collection of posts organized by chapters. If you just want a place to ramble, I would recommend creating a blog post.
I have completed and uncompleted proj's so thought a book? I mean some stuff is brainstorming that stymied me that I don't mind sharing if others get my groove and can expound.
Doesn't really matter. If you would like to tie multiple postings together, a book might make the most sense. Whatever suits your style. Note that books and blogs will not show up under active forum topics.
Sorry, guys, about being down this morning. In setting up the permissions, I accidentally deleted all of the forum topics! Fortunately, I had taken a backup snapshot before starting the maintenance and was able to recover.
If you want a thread that is for mods only, make a new Forum topic and change it's permissions so that only the group ~moderator~ can view or access that topic.
If you want a girl's only thread, simply make a new user_group called ~Girls Only~, then make a Forum topic that is only viewed by the group ~girls only~.
Then assign the group ~girls only~ the ability to assign another member to a group, the group being ~girls only~.
Then you end up with an invitation-only ~girls only~ Forum topic.
Hope that helps!
:)

~Live life to its fullest... with open arms, an open heart and most importantly, an open mind.~
When I installed that last Drupal version, I got a bundle from a friend that had the taxonomy scripted into it, so it was always there for me as far as an admin.
When you were asking the question, I was on the old LLF looking at the group creation buttons thinking... ~how can he not figure this out?~
It's cause you HAVE no buttons right now...lol.
Sorry for the mixup, but I've never had a ~naked~ Drupal, so I learned something tonight too... :)
-
~Live life to its fullest... with open arms, an open heart and most importantly, an open mind.~
LOL. No drama. I figured there had to be some sort of disconnect. I had searched everywhere in the admin panels multiple times looking for that functionality earlier and determined that it did not exist. I am probably missing a lot of modules that you had on LLF, but I have been patching holes as best as I can. :-)
I will take it under consideration. First I want to see how it fleshes out.
It may be time to do a recheck on the front page links to see if they are all still relevant or if we should remove some and add others. Does anyone have any suggestions or requests?
On the front page you have the category ~Living Off the Grid~, which I pretty much do. However, a big part of that is networking with neighbors and the barter system (we don't like taxes!) and there is no category for that there.
I'd like to work up a decent origional post on the subject with examples from my own life, but I have to put it off until I'm done painting my mother-in-law's house, decks, guest house, the rest of her block, etc.
So a thought for later?
BTW, it was mentioned that you may need help putting together a private thread for mods, etc here. If you do, please email me and I'll walk you through it.. it's actually pretty easy.

~Live life to its fullest... with open arms, an open heart and most importantly, an open mind.~
A barter thread would be great. You are right. That is a huge part of living off the grid.
As far as the private threads, I think I have it covered. I am performing site maintenance in the morning to install it. Oddly, mornings are the best time as very few people are on at that time. The typical IT installation time is actually the busiest around here.
how did you guys learn this stuff? Is there a webmaster for dummies guide out there?
I'm dying at http://www.ronpaulsingles.com/ I can do the basic admin stuff at the site and am getting somewhat comfortable with it but I don't even like to go near bluehost (my site host). Thomas
You're jumping into a rather steep learning curve, I have to warn you. However, it is one of the things that I have taught myself that has actually been a positive as far as time spent vs money made.

I found the software and then got my bluehost account and he uploaded it,did the background graphics, found some free chat software and uploaded that. And then he tweaked everything, set up the mail accounts and won't take anything for it....He's a saint is all I can say.
you know what I think I am going to have to do is learn how to type correctly first, this hunt and peck wont work with code I don't think. Dammit I should have taken that typing class in high school....
One of the best guys I ever programmed with couldn't type worth anything, but it didn't hold him back. The fact is that with most programming languages, you are using so many different special characters as well as pausing to consider what you are doing in the design that typing speed doesn't really make that much of a difference.
The most important thing is keeping things simple, organized, and maintainable (so you can understand the code when you come back to look at it in six months and don't remember what you were doing). Good comments are your friends.

Hey Khomar...
On my "What's for Supper" thread the add new comment button is missing. I also thought there were some posts on it. It has been awhile since I looked, maybe I am confused.
Sorry... I was giving Aya a break from the kids. Not sure how, but the comments had been disabled for that thread. It should be working now.
Wahoo...
Thanks Khomar, It seems I have not lost my mind. No need to apologize for giving that sweet wife of yours a break.
Khomar I Logged In Last Night And...

Is there any way to modify the posting on book sections?
As it is right now to post on a book page you have to hit preview then submit, it's an an unnecessary 2 step process.
I believe I now have it fixed so that all post types have the preview being optional.
What do you have to do to start a book?
I'd like a place to ramble...

Kinda like "madlibs of my mind".
Blog? Book? Blog? Book?
Doesn't really matter. If you would like to tie multiple postings together, a book might make the most sense. Whatever suits your style. Note that books and blogs will not show up under active forum topics.
I'll take a look.

Everything should be looking good now.
Techy porn
Khomar, this thread is evidence we need a "hidden" techy thread, by invitation only. ;)
LIVE and let live.
LOL
We already have one...

But that is the problem: I don't see where I can set the profile for a forum topic to certain profiles. Is there a setting somewhere to enable that?
Sorry....
I'm retarded tonight. What version of Drupal is this?
~Live life to its fullest... with open arms, an open heart and most importantly, an open mind.~
6.10
There's the issue.
I was in 5 at LLF and it included taxonomy grouping with a slight script change.
You do need a module....
http://drupal.org/project/tac_lite
That will make your whole world easier.. .sorry about that!
~Live life to its fullest... with open arms, an open heart and most importantly, an open mind.~
Ok. I thought I was going crazy there for a minute. ;-)
Thanks. That module looks a lot more basic than what I had been looking at. In this case, basic is good. :-)
Ya...

Dunno..
I ended up with too many and it would have been a nightmare (read reinstall and a new database) to fix it.
I think you are on exactly the right track!
One at a time and a little prayer on the module install... :)

i vote ...
that the jobs resources category gets put on the front page.
what do the rest of you think?
I agree...
The job list cougar sent is incredible. There are alot of great opportunities up there.
Ron Paul 2012
I went ahead and added it under Economy. I thought it made sense (unless I hear major opposition).
ooh cool.
looks awesome.

Khomar Please Leave Up The Home Made Anti Viral Tincture...
if you could, I have an uncomfortable feeling that it will be needed badly before the fall is over...
(Thanks)
Definitely. That was not one of the ones I was contemplating moving.
An odd one...
but something for later.

Um...
do NOT install a module to do that!
Just change your user permissions.
It'll keep your site just as fast as it is now without requiring more sql usage.
I'll go thru it with you this weekend, if you like.. it's easy!

Nah...
mostly it's 2452523423423423423 hours of reading up on the particular script you're attempting to use.
It REALLY helps if you can program, or at least have a working knowledge of php and/ or html and xml.

Ah Lets See, What In The Heck Is php and/ or html and xml.
thats where I'm at...
did you look at the front page of my site yet?
Ouch!
Now you see why them weird tech guys make buckets of cash.. heh.
An easy way to learn html is Sam's ~learn html in 24 hours~ or whatever book....

LOL. Actually, the worst thing I ever found was a folder filled with SQL script files named (I kid you not):
z.sql
zz.sql
zzz.sql
zzzz.sql
zzzzz.sql
zzzzzz.sql
zzzzzzz.sql
zzzzzzzz.sql
...
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.sql
and on and on and on...
All of them were apparently very useful little SQL queries, but... but... WHY?!
