READ THE COMMENTS ON DP... http://www.dailypaul.com/node/53871 what are your thoughts? its creepy. for Devon_Saunders - Tue, 07/01/2008 - 19:53 As a technician, I've a more paranoid thought... ~shrug~. The first thing we used to do in the military when we were taking over an area was to make sure that communications were knocked out. Here's a scary scenario... we are supposedly changing over because in the 9/11 event emergency response couldn't communicate effectively. Now, they are re-allocating those bands.. aa lot of them are being allocated to a nifty government branch called Homeland Security. Anyone wanna bet within 4-6 years you will no longer be allowed ham radio transmissions? That way, if something goes south, they have absolute and complete control over communications... we will no longer have the equipment to pick up anything that is not government-approved. And if you think that they cannot cut your cellphone, internet connection and landline off, I've got a bridge in Arizona to sell ya.. ;) Just a thought.. I've not had the time to put too much research into it yet.. there is too much that appears to be not public knowledge. for stick - Tue, 07/01/2008 - 20:03 Well knowing that "they" want full control over every facet in our lives of course it is not too much of a stretch to think that they not only want to monitor our communications they would want to be able to disable them as well. They already have the ability to jam any kind of wireless communications albeit on a small scale from land and air vehicles, and all it takes is a couple snips to cut landlines. Speaking of knocking communications out first, I do believe that when war in Iran kicks off there will be a prolonged disruption of our internet likely not the whole world but the U.S. specifically. After seeing what I did last night, I'll admit I got a little paranoid today when certain websites that I rely on for news were not loading. I believe that the disruption of the internet will be the sign that it's time to make final preparations because the rest of the dominoes are in line to fall. for cougarbreath - Tue, 07/01/2008 - 20:25 That is probably the most disconcerting and scariest part. Right now we have a network of communication. It's going to be devasting when we no longer have that network to consult and know what is really happening. for stick - Tue, 07/01/2008 - 09:35 well some certainly were part of a transmitter unit. Ever heard of the Neilson ratings? Now with digital cable they don't need the separate box to track you. Your cable box does all the work for them. I did hear though that comcast has designed a "smart box" with a camera in it to identify who is in the room and change the TV to their favorite channel. Sounds cool right, well what happens if a small child decides to turn the TV to an R rated movie. That little camera catches it all and could possibly transmit a very damning set of evidence back. I rarely watch TV, so I won't be bothered by this change. In fact,I think that watching TV will be the least of our worries. I am not going to pay money to keep the propaganda flowing into my house. for see-thru (not verified) - Tue, 07/01/2008 - 03:34 can someone techy translate please-- what is a cable box? 37" LCD -- is that his tv? how does he hook his computer to his tv? LOL! thanks in advance!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi My name is Dale in Oklahoma.... Screw the boxes, read, and inform your neighbors of what you have learned over the past year. We CAN overcome and defeat the neocons if we just get back to knowing our neighbors and being neighborly. With 300 million individuals all watching television we will continue to lose and will soon be enslaved. It's up to us. Again, thanks for listening to my rant. :O) Have a great day all! for see-thru (not verified) - Tue, 07/01/2008 - 02:47 dammit... i just ran into one of my filters. errrrrrrr. well... actually... i'm grateful i ran into it. i'm just pissed off that i have it. errrrrr!!!! The rebates, as far as I On June 30th, 2008 john2k says: The rebates, as far as I know, are mainly there to help those who really cannot afford the changeover from analog TV signals to digital. Not that I agree with taxing some people in order to help subsidize television for others... reply like just now... "Not that I agree with taxing some people in order to help subsidize television for others..." up until reading this post... i was obsessed with the ... OMG ..they are going to be using the technology in some evil way against us... and TOTALLY missed that they are giving a REBATE. THE GOVERNMENT IS GIVING A REBATE???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!! errrrrr. totally missed the big crappy issue of getting taxed to give someone else money to get some frickin' technology they don't even need. errrrr again!! lol! |
