![]() i think this is a very insightful comment from DP. from: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/86818 Peaceful protests first, riots next, and then who knows The conventional wisdom is that however bad the current economic downturn gets, it will end and good times will ultimately return. Even Dr. Paul says that government attempts to prevent liquidation of the distortions will prolong the pain, and turn a deep recession into a depression, but he does anticipate the return of good times at some future point. This is a significant error. Even the free markets, if we had them, cannot create energy out of nothing at zero cost. And it is energy that fuels our industrial economy upon we depend for the necessities of life. If you think it was the faulty monetary system and related Wall Street manipulation that is to blame for the current downturn, you are only partially correct. The true elephant in the room is higher cost energy and the simultaneous decreasing of world conventional oil production. Coal was a relatively new energy source at the time of the American Revolution. Oil was discovered in 1848. Natural gas and nuclear are very recent sources of energy. It was energy and related resources that made the great expansion of the economic pie possible. Without energy, our lives would more resemble those of our Founding Fathers than the affluence of recent times. Without energy to sustain it, the industrial age is kaput; modern farming is back to low yields and human and animal power; the electric grid fails; and the population falls rapidly to match the ability of economic output to sustain us. The easiest, cheapest, and largest deposits of energy are those which are found first. You don't drill in 10,000 feet of water if you can just drill 300 feet on easy to access land. The history of energy production is progressively increasing cost. And energy sources are produced in a predictable pattern, which is why Marion King Hubbert was able to predict when US oil production would begin to decline, 20 years in advance of when it actually began to decline, and why people using the same techniques can predict that we are now at the peak of conventional oil production, and face a future of declining (and more costly) production. A mere 3.5% annual decline in production will cut it in half in just 20 years, thus cutting the output of the industrial age in half or more in the same time frame. There will be no significant economic recovery anytime in the foreseeable future unless a new energy source is discovered, and there is none that is known today. Hydrogen, solar, wind, coal, natural gas, nuclear (fission), fusion, and biofuels are all inadequate, limited themselves, or too costly to implement at a time when we are out of enough energy to keep us going. We are in the same position as the cartoon character, Wylie Coyote when he runs off the edge of a cliff, looks down, and realizes there is noting but air holding him up. So politically, I think no government is likely to survive the pressure, particularly not the US government which is already at odds with the population, and already financially bankrupt. It would be nice to live in a free society so that we would all have an equal shot at survival instead of the majority being plundered and controlled by corrupt government and special interests, but even that would not change the overall outcome. It would just change who the survivors are. So I do expect that protests will give way to riots, and riots to rebellion, and rebellion to civil war; this will not necessarily bring us freedom (it might), but will be part of the process of unwinding the industrial age. I think it is reasonable to expect much violence before 2020. The future will be something very few in the world expect. |

In response to this post and all the others below me, I have come to one conclusion.
Through all my research, I have found that there is one driving end goal. I credit Devon for really showing me that as much as I didn't want it to be true, it is.
The people that pull the big strings want us dead but they know that they can't just kill us all. They want us to suffer and kill each other. We are all in some stage within their plan for us to kill each other. Fear mongering over things like peak oil while suppressing real super tech is part of the whole agenda. They want everything for themselves and they want us to destroy ourselves whilst never coming close to touching them.
Devon showed me this when he would talk about those that lived before us and how civilization builds itself up and then blows itself apart. We now have the technology to once again kill everyone and everything on this planet and now everything is getting so massive and so crazy complex in its destruction but it comes down to one singular point. They want us to die and take down others with us.
The only way to fight it is to live free and as happy as you can be. We can be the ones that help to break this destructive cycle. I think the people of the 60's helped to avert a major extinction but they stopped short of exposing the power structure. We can do it this time as long as we all do our little part. Many hands make for light work.
The reason why this could take down the governments is because they are all looking for government solutions. By adding regulations, taxes, controls and other manipulative efforts, they are only succeeding in muddying the waters and distracting small businesses from developing alternate fuel sources.
Corn ethanol is a very good example. There is nothing wrong with ethanol fuel, but corn is one of the worst crops to use. Hemp is actually a fantastic source as it has an 8 to 1 yield -- it is sustainable. Corn may break even. However the government has been pushing corn ethanol and thereby restricts the efforts of real, sustainable research into this area.
I believe there are good, economical alternatives that if given the chance in a free market would make their way into popularity based upon their merits. I think there would still be pain in the transition, but as long as government (and all of the inherent corruption and manipulation) continues to force their way into the energy sector, our chances of achieving a good solution are vastly diminished.
An economic collapse may just be the thing we need to get ourselves our from under the various oppressive regimes that are damaging our society and back to a true free economy.
i completely agree.
the gov't needs to get out of the way and the nwo needs to get the hell out of the way.
the reason the nwo is gonna go down so hard is because they have had anti-gravity technology since the late 1800's.
we could have skipped a whole CENTURY of pollution.
moms could have all been stay at home moms if they chose.
dads could have had the four day work week if they chose.
we could have had NO taxes.
we could have had voluntary chip-ins for projects locally.
we could have had stem cell research ... which by the way ... ram has said has the potential to cure almost EVERY malady we have.
terra would be gentler with us ... less earthquakes, volcanos, windstorms (hurricanes, tornados), etc...
we drained her blood (oil) .... so we have 'oil' accidents. ships spill. weather destroys oil rigs.
we made plastic and threw them into landfills and the oceans. so we have volcanos and earthquakes. lava is the only thing that can naturally break down plastics.
we grossly pollute the air. chemtrails. burning fossil fuels. have you seen pictures of mexico city, or beijing for example? then we destroy the one thing that could clean our air -- forests. not trees... massive forests. forests act like lungs. i've seen what happens locally after a huge windstorm passes through and our smog is mild compared to those cities. the windstorms clear the air but there is also some damage to our infrastructure.
so industry titans are going down. royals are going down. the banking houses are going down. the churches are going down.
yes, even the churches. the catholic church has had the secret teachings of jesus for centuries and still refuses to make the knowledge public. power and worship are so yummy.
and africa ... oh my ... the entire continent will be flooded. how they treat women is ghastly.
and the muslims. their extremists -- how they oppress women. freedom and liberty are not just the prerogative of men.
and the zionists. oh my.
i don't really know who out of these have the biggest surprise coming.
it is no wonder the human race as been scheduled for extermination.
One must wonder...
We look at the mess this world is in everyday. I recall a lot of times in childhood, Hard Work. There are the ones who had grown never knowing the value of HOME, Land, WORK, or earning what is needed to survive. The times that I remember most is cooking dinner on an open fire. Surviving off our canned goods, and also when we were without electric for days on end in the cold winter. It takes strong unaggressive leadership, and patience.
To most this would be an extreme inconvenience. If they had to do this for more than a couple hours, devastation. This is the way the poor man survives. We will all be there together and/or apart...but in the same boat. I hope I can express my own experiences to you when this all happens very soon. Unfortunatly, those who do not understand, may try to take away what you have.
I will tell you...You do not know your poor when you have a strong family network. Hope, Love, Faith, and Truth are what you live on everyday!

Stem Cell Research
This is an interesting topic. The fact is that stem cell therapy is here -- today -- in adult stem cells. There have been numerous successful procedures done taking stem cells from one part of a person's body and healing another. It is a proven technology with huge, untapped potential. With research and attention, it could cause a huge revolution in the realm of medicine, and it carries none of the ethical questions or pitfalls found in embryonic stem cell research.
So why is there so much focus on embryonic stem cells and why is adult stem cell research downplayed?
Patents
You see, embryonic stem cell technology can be patented and sold as a product. You cannot sell parts of a person's body to them as they already own it. You can only charge them for the cost of the medical procedure, but with embryonic stem cells, you can sell the technology as well as the source material and make much bigger profits.
I TOTALLY agree Khomar. This battle with embryonic tissue is not necessary. I have even taken some stuff called Stem-tech that is a patented specific part of blue green algae (no I can't remember what it's called)Nonetheless this product and it's manufacturer's research shows there are other viable ways to deal with this issue besides embryonic tissue. Sigh.. the truth is we could probably stop worrying about all this stuff if we could get back to clean eating, breathing, and drinking (I wanted to say "living" but that has a different connotation these days) I get so sad sometimes, it could all be so simple and beautifully complex if we were allowed to steer our lives with the freedom and ethics we desire to have. I wish we could just spray these psychopaths with something that would cure them and make them want to do good for everyone.... (don't I sound like a sniveling 3 year old?)
